Letting go of stuff and people

There was a time, when I thought buying the latest containers would solve my clutter troubles. The same went with relationships. There was a time, when I thought that staying with a guy to avoid conflict and my deep-seeded fear of abandonment would solve my loneliness.

The result? Piles of beautiful containers containing junk I never used, a messy house, heartbreak, anxiety, and low self-esteem.

After years of therapy and the discovery of The Minimalists, Leo Babauta and Marie Kondo's The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing, I've realized that the key to organization and relationships is NOT to skip the letting go step.

If it doesn't...

1. serve a purpose or 2. make you happy...

get rid of it.
